What is Purple Day?
Observed annually on March 26, Purple Day is a global initiative to raise awareness about epilepsy. Created in 2008 by a 9-year-old Nova Scotia girl, Cassidy Megan, Purple Day is now observed in more than 85 countries across all continents. By wearing purple and hosting epilepsy awareness events, we hope to get people talking about epilepsy and inform those with seizures that they are not alone.
In the featured image, you’ll meet our dog Loki, who was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2009. Every year, on Purple Day, he puts on his purple bow to show his support for everyone affected by epilepsy and seizures 💜
