A Potion Recipe to revive a corpse, or maybe to revive the party! Citrusy, complex, sweet, tart, and bitter, this cocktail comes to life with flavours of lemon, Amaro, Gin and herbs.
This cocktail was inspired by the classic Corpse Revivor #2, typically made of absinthe wash and equal parts Gin, Lillet Blanc, Lemon, and Orange Liqueur. We added our Dry Hopped Gin to add additional citrus and fruit flavour. Our Amaro makes a great swap-in for orange liqueurs, especially when a cocktail benefits from the extra herbal complexity. Lillet Blanc is great and adds additional sweetness, acid, and bitterness. However, in this combo, the balance was not exactly where we wanted it. It took us a bit of time but eventually, we realized tonic water would add the sweetness, acidity and bitterness with the added benefit of being easier to use than a bottle of Lillet Blanc. The tonic hits the balance and flavour profile we wanted for this potion recipe, now we just needed a corpse to test it on…
Ingredients
0.75oz – Gin imbued by Dry Hopping
0.75oz – Finely crafted Amaro of Entropy
0.75oz – Juice from a ripe Yellow Lemon
0.75oz – Soda of Tonic
3 Dash – Bitter of Absinthe
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.
- Shake for 30 seconds or until the shaker is ice cold.
- Strain into a coupe glass or potion bottle.
- Enjoy it as a cocktail or give it to a corpse in need of revival.
